Police can now release the name of the woman who died following a crash in Waipukurau on 29 June.

She was 31-year-old Amberlee Carlson, of Waipukurau.

Our thoughts are with those close to her at this difficult time.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash remain ongoing.

One person has died following a serious crash early this morning in Waipukurau.

Police received a report of a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Takapau Road and Racecourse Road at around 3.50am.

Sadly, despite best efforts of emergency services, the sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

The road was closed while the Serious Crash Unit conducted a scene examination. The road is now clear.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

Prompt arrest after vehicle stolen opposite Napier Police Station

An alleged car thief in Napier picked the wrong location to try her luck – getting arrested within 10 minutes of stealing a vehicle parked opposite the Police station.

Shortly before 10am today, a courier driver was delivering a parcel to a premises on Station Street, opposite the Napier Police Station.

Senior Sergeant Su Robinson says the driver left his vehicle running, as was his usual practice, when a woman got into the vehicle and drove off with the van loaded full of parcels.

Police can now release the name of the woman who died following a crash in Hastings on 11 May.

She was 23-year-old Jayde Winter Santana Staples, of Flaxmere.

No significant issues from gang-related funeral

Police are pleased to report no significant issues following a gang-related funeral in the Hawke’s Bay yesterday.

An operation to monitor the behaviour and movements of those involved were carried out across Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.

One person was arrested on Tuesday evening for displaying gang insignia.

We would like to thank the members of the public for their patience during this time.

Asset Recovery Unit seizes vehicles and cash in Gisborne

Police will be closely monitoring the movements of those travelling from Napier through to Hastings for a funeral tomorrow morning around 9am.

Motorists can expect to see a large number of gang members and associates travelling around the region both this evening and tomorrow.

We’re reminding all those who are travelling on our roads to not act in any way that can put yourself and other road users at risk. Motorists should also expect delays.

Further arrest made in relation to homicide of Kaea Karauria

Police have charged a second person after alleged interference in the murder investigation of 15-year-old Kaea Karauria.

A 21-year-old Napier woman was taken into custody earlier today, after Police learned while conducting follow-up enquiries, that she had provided instructions to another person to destroy evidence.

The alleged incident occurred on 11 May, the day of the fight in which Kaea was killed.

One offender caught after Napier pharmacy burglary

Attribute to Inspector Caroline Martin Hawke’s Bay Area Prevention Manager.

Police have made one arrest for the burglary of the Life Pharmacy on Monday 16 June.

Two alleged offenders entered the Emerson Street premises around 2.30am using a weapon to break through a glass door.

They took several items from the store before fleeing the area.

A short time later, Police located one of the vehicles on Venables Avenue and found items believed to be from the store.

Police are now in a position to release the name of the woman who died following a crash involving two Ute’s on State Highway 2, Maharahara on 13 June.

She was 69-year-old, Philipa Beech.

Police extends our condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time.
