Four injured in serious crash in Kumeu

Police are investigating a serious crash in Kumeu last night, which has left four teenagers in hospital, two of whom remain in a critical condition.

The crash occurred around 8.20pm on Coatesville-Riverhead Highway, shortly after Police signalled a vehicle to stop due to the manner of driving. The vehicle fled and was not being pursued at the time of the crash.

Stuck in the mud lands rider in court

A game of stuck in the mud has ended in court for one rider after he attempted to evade Police during the early hours of this morning.

Just before 4.30am, a Police unit observed a motorbike with false number plates travelling along Bruce McLaren Road, Henderson.

Waitematā West Area Commander, Inspector Jason Edwards, says officers followed the rider, who appeared to be having issues with the bike.

“The motorcycle was travelling at low speed, with the rider appearing unable to change gears.”

Warrant to arrest: Jade Hamlyn Beazley

Police are appealing to the public for information on the whereabouts of Jade Hamlyn Beazley, 40, who has a warrant to arrest and is wanted by Police.

He is wanted in relation to a number of offences and Police believe someone may have information on his whereabouts.

Beazley is known to frequent the Mount Wellington area.

Anyone with information is urged to call 111 immediately and quote file number 250620/8529.

Alternatively information can be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.

Two arrested following aggravated robbery

Police have made two arrests following an aggravated robbery in New Lynn this morning.

At around 8.30am, Police attended a Parker Avenue convenience store.

Detective Senior Sergeant Megan Goldie, Waitematā CIB, says two offenders have entered the store, one armed with a knife.

“The offenders have jumped over the counter and stolen the till before leaving the store and fleeing in a stolen car.

“Fortunately, the shop keeper was uninjured.”

Unattended tin dinghy located, Kawau Bay, Auckland

Police are appealing for information after an unattended tin dinghy was found drifting off Kawau Bay this morning.

At this stage, we have no reports of any missing people that would appear to relate, however, we are wanting to confirm the dinghy’s owner is safe.

Police urge anyone who recognises the dinghy or who know someone who has failed to return home from fishing on Kawau Bay today to contact Police using the 105 reporting line, quote event number P062933786.
