The south bound lane of the Athol Five Rivers Highway, Lowther is closed following a bus crash.
The report was received at about 8.30am.
The bus was part of a Chinese tour group heading to Queenstown and Milford Sound.
There are initial reports of one serious injury and three minor injuries.
Emergency services are attending.
There is reportedly black ice in the area.
Police ask drivers to avoid the area and take alternative routes where possible.
